## Donation program at a glance

- Lead time: CARES Foundation grants reviewed on a quarterly cycle (Feb, May, Aug, Nov deadlines)
- Area restrictions: Save Mart Companies' operating area (Central California and northern Nevada)

Product donation requests, youth sports team sponsorship requests and community organization fundraiser requests go to the store manager of your local store.

The CARES Foundation grant program focuses on building stronger communities through fresh foods, access to food, and programs that support youth.

CARES Foundation grant requests should be $500 to $10,000; smaller requests should go to the store manager of the nearest Save Mart Companies store.

The CARES Foundation gives to a group or program directly, not to a fundraising activity, and reviews applications quarterly in grant cycles posted on the guidelines page.

The CARES Foundation does not fund individuals, for-profit groups or professional associations, churches, temples, synagogues or mosques, groups mainly funded by government, or staff costs and organizations with overhead above roughly 20%.

Tips from the program page: If your request is for an auction, raffle or other fundraiser, go to the local store manager rather than the CARES Foundation, which does not fund fundraising activities. · Foundation grants are compared against every other application in the same cycle, weighing community need and impact, so explain the need your program addresses. · Organizations that receive grants for more than one year must show meaningful outcomes from the previous grant.
