Does AAA Mid-Atlantic donate to fundraisers?

AAA Mid-Atlantic's website now leads to AAA Club Alliance, which says it serves Delaware, Maryland, Washington, D.C., and parts of Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and other states.

AAA Club Alliance says that as a membership organization its ability to use funds for in-kind contributions is limited.

Contributions focus on communities in its service area where its associates live and work, and priority goes to organizations in which associates are active.

Applicants are normally tax-exempt nonprofits under Sections 501(c) and 170(b) of the IRS Code.

It does not fund repeat annual grants or multi-year in-kind contributions; a past recipient's new request is reviewed as a new request each year.

It gives no support to activities that serve political, ideological or religious organizations, though religiously affiliated schools and programs may qualify if they provide a non-discriminatory general education or secular community service.

AAA Mid-Atlantic asks every request to include the following.

• A request on your organization's letterhead with a description of the organization and its contact details.
• A brief statement of your organization's purpose.
• A copy of your most recent IRS tax-exempt ruling.
• A list of your board members and their affiliations, and a list of current corporate contributors.
• An audited financial report covering the last two years, separating administrative and program costs.
• For an event or program, an event-specific budget may also be required.
• Send it in writing to AAA Club Alliance Public & Government Affairs in Wilmington, Delaware.

What AAA Mid-Atlantic will not fund

AAA Mid-Atlantic states in its own published guidelines that it will not fund the following.

• Activities or programs that serve political, ideological or religious organizations (religiously affiliated programs or schools with a secular purpose may be eligible)
• Repetitive annual grants and multi-year in-kind contributions
