Which Companies Accept Donation Requests Online?

Last updated September 29, 2026

Many companies now take donation requests through an online form or portal, and several accept them no other way. Big 5 Sporting Goods, Wegmans, Dick's Sporting Goods, Oriental Trading, Total Wine & More, the Boston Red Sox, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Green Bay Packers and Crayola Experience all describe an online route on their own websites. Some others that people assume are online still want paper. Target asks you to print its form and bring it to a store, and Trader Joe's wants a letter delivered to your neighborhood store.

The long link lists that rank for this search mostly stop at the URL. An organizer needs more than that: what each company gives, where it gives, how much notice it wants, and what the form will ask for, so you can get through ten forms in an evening instead of starting over each time. This guide groups online-request companies by what you would receive, then covers what to have ready before you open the first form.

Online donation requests, grouped by what you would get

Every detail here comes from the company's own giving page. Each company links to its donor page in our directory. Forms move and portals change, so confirm on the company's page before you apply.

"Online" does not always mean a web form

Several well-known programs still want a store visit, an email or a letter. A request sent the wrong way may never be read.

  • Target: fill in the GiftCard request form, print it, and bring it to your local Target store with your IRS letter.
  • Trader Joe's: a written request on your letterhead, citing your tax ID, delivered to the Donation Coordinator at your neighborhood store at least three weeks ahead.
  • Books-A-Million: email the Donation Request Form. Email is the only route.
  • Benihana: a letter on your letterhead, by mail only. It cannot accept requests by phone or email.
  • Olive Garden: a written request on letterhead to the general manager of your local restaurant, 30 days ahead.
  • Wawa is the reverse case. Its in-kind support is requested online, but product donations of soft pretzels or Wawa water are picked up at a local store. Your event must be at least 3 weeks after you submit.

What to have ready before you open a form

Most online forms ask for the same things, and some portals need an account before you can see a single question. Put these in one folder first:

  1. Your IRS determination letter as a PDF, plus your EIN. Crayola Experience, Oriental Trading and Wegmans all look for 501(c)(3) status.
  2. A one-paragraph description of your organization and who it serves.
  3. Event basics: name, date, location, and how the item will be used (live or silent auction, raffle, door prize). Oriental Trading asks you to pick the event type from a list.
  4. A request letter on letterhead, saved as a PDF. Oriental Trading accepts letterhead or proof of 501(c)(3) as one attachment.
  5. The specific item you are asking for, named in one line.
  6. A place to record logins. Big 5, Dick's, Wegmans and the Packers each ask you to create an account. The Packers moved to a new portal in July 2026, and applications from the old system were not transferred to it.

Keep track after you press submit

Online requests are easy to send and easy to lose. Several programs set rules for what comes next. The Steelers say they do not take phone calls or emails about the status of a request. The Red Sox ask recipients to complete an online reply form after the event, reporting what the item raised, to be considered in future. The Red Sox, Steelers, Big 5 and Crayola Experience each limit you to one donation per year. Log each submission with the date, the item named and the channel you used. The donation request tracker gives you the columns, status words and a follow-up rule, so two volunteers do not submit the same form twice.

Timing matters as much as the form. Lead times on this page run from 30 days to 8 weeks, so work backwards from your event date. Our guide on when to send donation requests covers how to plan a whole season of asks.
