Fitness companies that donate to fundraisers

9 companies in our fitness category have product donation programs for schools, nonprofits, and community fundraisers. Each listing explains what they give and how to apply.

Fitness and outdoor companies give sporting goods, team memorabilia and outdoor gear, mostly to 501(c)(3) organizations, and most take requests through an online form, some by email, often six weeks to three months before the event.

Dick's Sporting Goods focuses on youth sports and takes requests for item or monetary donations through its online form, with a lead time of three months. Bass Pro Shops looks for nonprofits that protect fish and wildlife resources or connect people to the outdoors, and takes requests by email.

Team memorabilia is regional. The Los Angeles Lakers (Memorabilia) donate items and memorabilia for charity events to 501(c)(3) groups in Southern California, with at least six weeks' notice. The New York Jets give authentic and replica autographed items and giveaways to charitable fundraisers in their region, with about eight weeks' notice. For outdoor gear, Grizzly Coolers takes requests through its online form at least sixty days ahead, and Garmin reviews requests through one online form, says review can take six to eight weeks, and follows up only if it can help.

Pitch the activity as well as the cause: these companies say they look for youth sports, the outdoors, or the markets they serve. Ask early, send one clear, specific request per company, and do not resend if you do not hear back quickly.
